Why This Happens
This is a system behavior of Hostfully. When a user visits your property page, they can get a quote for specific nights. We ask Hostfully to generate a lead so we can provide that quote.
Once the user clicks "Book Now," we take them to our lead capture form where they enter their email and booking information before proceeding to the Hostfully checkout page.
The stub@email.com placeholder allows this quote process to work seamlessly while protecting guest privacy until they're ready to book.
What Happens Next
If the guest continues: Hostfully automatically replaces the stub entry with their real contact information
If the guest leaves: The stub entry remains as a record of their interest
What This Means for You
More stub@email.com entries indicate:
Increased site traffic
Higher booking flow engagement
Growing interest in your properties
Even incomplete bookings show your site is attracting and engaging potential guests.
