What To Do If You Received a Hospitable Email About Updating Your Booking Widget

CraftedStays sites don't need the widget code update. Here's what to check instead if you use Google Vacation Rentals.

Written by Kin Pagaduan

Hospitable recently sent an email titled "Action Required: Update your booking widget," asking hosts to replace their old widget embed code with a new one before a set deadline.

If your site is on CraftedStays, you do not need to update your widget code.

That email applies to hosts using Hospitable's own static iframe widget. CraftedStays uses its own booking widget, which already supports the functionality Hospitable's update addresses (like carrying over guest-selected dates from Google Vacation Rentals). There's no embed code to swap out on your end.

What you may still need to do

If you use Google Vacation Rentals through Hospitable, there's a separate, smaller step to check: making sure each property's URL is correctly set in Hospitable.

  1. In your Hospitable dashboard, go to Direct Bookings.

  2. Click on your Live Direct Booking Site.

  3. You'll see your list of properties, with Address, Payments, and URL columns on the right.

  4. If a property's URL column shows a warning icon instead of a checkmark, that property's URL isn't set.

  5. To fix it, get the property's full CraftedStays URL (see our article on finding your property URL), then paste it into the URL field for that property in Hospitable.

  6. Once saved, the warning icon should change to a checkmark.

This is unrelated to the widget code update. It's a separate check specific to how Hospitable syncs your property listings for Google Vacation Rentals.
