Overview

An FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section helps answer common guest questions, reduces support inquiries, and improves SEO by addressing search queries.

Two Ways to Add FAQ Content

Option 1: Built-in FAQ Section

Templates include an FAQ section that pulls from your site's FAQ data.

Option 2: List Toggle Section

Create a custom expandable Q&A list on any page. Please note that this block may not yet be supported across all templates, but broader availability is planned in future updates.

Using the Built-in FAQ Section

Step 1: Add FAQ Data

  1. Go to your CraftedStays dashboard

  2. Navigate to Site settings

  3. Look for FAQ section

  4. Add your questions and answers

Step 2: Add FAQ Section to Page

  1. Go to Template Editor

  2. Select the page (usually Home)

  3. Add the FAQ section

  4. Configure the title (e.g., "Frequently Asked Questions")

  5. Save changes

The FAQ section automatically displays questions from your site's FAQ data.

Using List Toggle (Custom Q&A)

For more control over FAQ placement and content:

Step 1: Add List Toggle Section

  1. Go to Template Editor

  2. Select your page

  3. Add "List Toggle" section

Step 2: Configure the Section

  1. Set the Title (e.g., "Common Questions")

  2. Add Q&A items:

  • Click to add a QA Item block

  • Enter Question

  • Enter Answer

  • Repeat for each Q&A pair

Step 3: Style Options

  • Choose a color scheme

  • Adjust title styling

FAQ Best Practices

Write Clear Questions

  • Good: "How do I check in?"

  • Less clear: "Arrival procedures"

Keep Answers Concise

  • Answer the question directly

  • Use short paragraphs or bullet points

  • Don't include unnecessary details

Update Regularly

  • Add new questions as they come up

  • Remove outdated information

  • Review quarterly

Order Strategically

Put most common questions first, or group by category.

Adding FAQ to Custom Pages

You can create a dedicated FAQ page:

  1. Create a new custom page (slug: "faq")

  2. Add a Hero or Title section at the top

  3. Add one or more List Toggle sections

  4. Organize by category if you have many questions

  5. Add to your navigation menu

Troubleshooting

FAQ section not showing

  1. Verify FAQ data is entered in site settings

  2. Make sure FAQ section is added to the page

  3. Check section visibility settings

Questions not expanding

  1. This is typically a JavaScript issue

  2. Clear browser cache

  3. Test in different browser

  4. Contact support if persists

Want more formatting in answers

FAQ answers support basic text. For complex formatting:

  • Keep answers simple in FAQ section

  • Link to detailed pages for complex topics
