Creating Custom Landing Pages

This article will show you how to create custom page and adding it to your menu.

Overview

Custom pages let you add additional pages to your site beyond the default ones (Home, Search, Properties, Blog). Use them for About pages, Local Guides, FAQ pages, Terms of Service, and more.


Default Pages vs Custom Pages

Default Pages (Built-in)

  • Home - Your homepage

  • Search - Property search results

  • Property - Individual property pages

  • Blog/Blogs - Blog listing and posts (requires Marketing Hub)

  • Checkout - Booking checkout

Custom Pages

Any additional pages you create, such as:

  • About Us

  • Local Guide / Things to Do

  • Contact

  • FAQ

  • Terms & Conditions

  • Special Offers

  • Event Space


Creating a Custom Page

1. Access Template Editor

  1. Go to your CraftedStays dashboard

  2. Navigate to Site > Manage Template

  3. Edit existing template

2. Add New Page

  1. Click Add top-level page


  2. Enter page details:

  • Title - Page name (e.g., "About Us")

  • Path/Slug - URL path (e.g., "about" creates yoursite.com/about)

3. Build Your Page

Add sections to create your page content:

  • Hero - Header with image/text

  • Text and Image - Content with photo

  • Title and Text - Simple text section

  • HTML - Custom embed code

  • FAQ/List Toggle - Expandable Q&A

  • Multiple Cards - Grid of cards with images

4. Configure Each Section

Click on a section to customize:

  • Edit text and titles

  • Upload images(if supported)

  • Set colors/styling

  • Add buttons with links

5. Save and Exit

Save your changes - the page goes live immediately.


Adding Custom Pages to Your Menu

After creating a page:

  1. Go to Site > Manage Template > Menu

  2. Click "Edit Menu Items"

  3. Add a new item:

  • Type: Page

  • Page: Select your custom page

  • Title: What appears in the menu

4. Save changes



Common Custom Page Examples

About Us Page

Sections to include:

  • Hero with company image

  • Text and Image about your story

  • Text about your team/hosts

  • Reviews section

  • Contact information

Local Guide / Things to Do

Sections to include:

  • Hero with destination image

  • Multiple Cards Grid for activities:

  • Restaurants

  • Attractions

  • Outdoor Activities

  • Shopping

  • Text sections with recommendations

FAQ Page

Sections to include:

  • Hero or Title section

  • List Toggle (FAQ) section - creates expandable Q&A

  • Each item has Question and Answer fields

  • Add as many Q&A items as needed

Note: Most templates manages FAQ page from the dashboard, after which you can simply add the FAQ block to the page.

Contact Page

Sections to include:

  • Title and Text with contact info

  • HTML block with embedded contact form (Google Forms, Typeform, Elfsight forms, etc.)

  • Text with address and hours


Page URL Structure

Custom pages are accessible at:

``

yoursite.com/page-slug

``

For example:

  • About page with slug "about" → yoursite.com/about

  • Local Guide with slug "things-to-do" → yoursite.com/things-to-do



Tips for Custom Pages

Keep URLs Clean

  • Use lowercase letters

  • Use hyphens for spaces

  • Keep slugs short and descriptive

  • Example: "about-us" or "local-guide"

Use Consistent Design

  • Match your homepage style

  • Use similar section types

  • Keep colors consistent with your brand

Mobile-First Thinking

  • Test pages on mobile devices

  • Keep text concise

  • Use high-quality images that scale well


Troubleshooting

Page not showing in menu

  1. Make sure you added it to the menu

  2. Check menu settings and save

  3. Clear browser cache

Page URL not working

  1. Verify the page slug is correct

  2. Check for typos in the URL

  3. Make sure the page was saved

Sections not displaying correctly

  1. Check each section's configuration

  2. Make sure required fields are filled

  3. Try removing and re-adding the section

Images not loading

  1. Wait for upload to complete

  2. Check file format (use JPG or PNG)

  3. Keep file size reasonable (under 5MB)
